Haiti was hit with a 7.0 magnitude earthquake at 4:53pm yesterday, January 12, leaving 3 million people in need of emergency aid. Since Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, it is ill equipped to handle aftermath of the earthquake alone.
Local Utah business owner Mika Lawson of Mikarose and her sister Laureen are of Haitian descent and have family who were affected by the disaster. They are partnering with Healing Hands for Haiti and organizing aid for the earthquake victims in Haiti.
