TechnoChic: Futuristic Collection by BurdaStyle

Growing up, I embarked on crazy sewing projects with my mom and just recently, I borrowed a sewing machine and serger from a friend to work on a flamenco skirt project. Now that I have a sewing machine in my house, all of a sudden the fashion opportunities seem limitless and I am itching to bring new clothes into fruition!

So when I saw BurdaStyle‘s new September patterns, a futuristic new collection called TechnoChic, and this Scuba Dress, it made me want to start a whole new sewing project. This dress has some lovely feminine interior lines, enhanced with contrasting fabrics, that is so streamlined and sophisticated. Paired with the Leather Bolero, this is one smoking outfit!

While I’ve never purchased one of BurdaStyle’s patterns, I fancy doing so rather frequently since they have the option to purchase patterns online and download and print a PDF at home — no more trips to the store! Plus, each month they release a new fashion forward collection that will have you wanting to dig out your sewing machine (or borrow one, like me) and get cracking.

Do you sew your own clothes? Have you done any fun DIY projects recently?

  3. Thanks for chiming in, Spinning Threads! Yes, I\’ve been way into leather lately, as well — just bought a pair of faux leather pants, in fact! Collaborative sewing projects are totally the way I\’ve always \”sewed\” as well. It\’s always better crafting with company! -Sarah
