Special Delivery from Justin Hackworth Photography!
At the end of the summer, my husband and I (and our kittens) got our family portraits taken by Justin Hackworth. As Justin can attest, we are regulars, this being our fourth photo shoot with him over the last three years. Since we’ve had rock-star caliber photos before, we wanted these shots to be fun, lively and playful. That’s definitely how they turned out.

We had actually completely forgotten that a book was being assembled with our photos and so when I received the call today, I was surprised. Justin’s assistant Megan went above and beyond and hand delivered the book to us this evening. Now that’s exceptional service! The book is absolutely beautiful.
And it goes perfectly with Jill Vegas’s Speed Decorating book and Danielle LaPorte’s Style Statement book.

As enamored as we are with the book, the kittens couldn’t get over the box.

Fashion Trends for 2010 by Utah StyleListe Magazine

Wedding Wednesday – Utah Brides
What girl hasn’t fantasized of the day they would get married and what their dress would look like? Here are some Utah Brides featured in the Utah Bride and Groom magazine who wore marvelously modest dresses and will give you new ideas for your perfect wedding dress.

The bride wore: an Allure Champagne-colored, crystal-beaded gown with a custom-made bolero. The gown featured a long train, fitted low on the waist, with a scalloped hemline. To match the sparkly gown, she wore a crystal brooch in her hair.

Bolero jackets are a great way for brides to be modest without having to alter the original dress design.

Look Good, Feel Good
Would you agree that when you look good, you feel good? I don’t know about you, but on days that I just don’t want to get out of bed, or I’m having a bad hair day or am feeling blue, it really helps to put on something that makes me look good because then I feel good. What an easy pick me up!
Here are some of my favorites items from my personal look good, feel good collection:
My red Guess purse.
This was a gift from a lovely friend, Tina, when I left Vancouver. It seems to have magical powers and attracts compliments from everyone which always makes me feel good.
My red Franco Sarto open toed shoes.
I splurged on these babies one year for my birthday and love them! They’re perfect when paired with a red pedicure and the Guess purse Red, red, red. I’m sensing a pattern here…
My tweed hat.

Never underestimate the power of a good hat. Hats are particularly useful on bad hair days or if the alarm didn’t go off and there’s no time to wash your hair!

Wedding Wednesday: Engagement Photos by Justin Hackworth
One of the funnest parts about getting engaged is getting official photos taken together as a couple. It truly is a blissful (albeit stressful) time and you want to immortalize these moments forever through incredible engagement photos.
Enter Justin Hackworth Photography. Justin Hackworth is an incredible photographer based out of downtown Provo, Utah. I’ve had the pleasure of being photographed by Justin in the past (my profile pic in the About Cable Car segment was taken by him at Osaka Restaurant last Christmas!) and he has this innate way of capturing the magic of the moment.

Wedding Wednesday: Kristen
Each Wednesday, Cable Car Couture will feature another beautiful bride and her modest wedding dress. Kristen will be our first featured bride.
Kristen married Cameron in April 2008 at the Salt Lake City temple. She wore a Casablance gown purchased from Mary’s Bridal in Salt Lake City, UT. Her Casablance gown had lovely rouching and boning, very flattering to the waist, with intricate beading and an elegant row of buttons down the back. While the dress was originally strapless, Mary’s Bridal took her exact measurements and Casablance customized the gown to be adjusted to her taste. The measurements were so precise that whent he dress arrived months later, it fit perfectly.
Prior to the alterations, the Casablance gown was $600. After the customizations and rush order, it was approximately $1100.
