One Piece Swimsuits for 2012 You’re Going to Love!
One piece swimsuits have a reputation for being the ugly sister of swimwear. Once you get a load of these one piece swimsuits, you may change your mind about wearing a one piece beachside!
Will you be wearing a one piece swimsuit this summer?
Best Picks for Modest Swimwear: Summer 2011
Summer 2011 is just around the corner which means it’s time to suit up and find a swimsuit you love. So many of the suits in today’s marketplace leave little to the imagination, so if you prefer something with a little more coverage, look no further. We’ve compiled a great list of modest swimwear for summer 2011.
I’m all over this vintage style suit with lots of coverage through the thighs and a bandeau top. The black is slimming and the side ruching will help confuse the eye if you have a little tummy.
The Shabby Apple Venizia swimsuit is the one that has me swooning this season! The sporty stripes and black sash are decidedly European for a total sophisticate feel.
Rey Swimwear is a collection of suits inspired by Audrey Hepburn by actress Jessica Rey. Everything has a decidedly vintage feel.
The sophisticated and minimalistic Dash of Sass suit by Pearl Swimwear is cut low in the back so you can show off your suave back.
Shabby Apple has a gorgeous new line of swimsuits for 2011 inspired by the Italian Amalfi Coast with fun and flirty feminine lines like the Isola tankini. It also comes in black and a luscious coral in the Pomodoro! Bottoms are sold separately.
What will you be wearing poolside this summer?

Modest Swimsuits for Teens
In a day where it’s incredibly difficult to find modest swimsuits for teens, thankfully there are many swimsuit companies who have answered the siren call to create lovely, modest swimsuits for teens. After seeing these fabulous modest swimsuits, what teen will want to sport a two-piece this summer?
Hipari
Hipari’s GNO “Girl’s Night Out” Butterfly Tankini has summer written all over it with its colorful tropical flower design. Bottoms sold separately.
Rey Swimwear
For the girl that loves channeling the vintage Audrey Hepburn type feel, you will love Rey Swimwear’s Jo in Moonlit Sky polka dot bandeau tankini! Bottoms sold separately.
Also from Rey Swimwear, the Eliza in Nile Blue tankini provides lots of coverage and also has the flattering ruching on the sides for a slimming effect.
Lime Ricki
The Gabby Tankini from Lime Ricki is perfect for the girl that loves pink. Plus, a portion of each sale of this modest swimsuit will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to combat breast cancer. Bottoms sold separately.
Lime Ricki’s one-piece modest Ava swimsuit is fabulous! This bandeau swimsuit is sure to flatter with its ruching along the sides. As discussed in previous posts, ruching along the sides will confuse the eye and make one’s waist appear smaller. Who wouldn’t love that?
Layers Clothing
Meet the newest arrival to Layer’s Clothing’s swimsuit collection, the darling Darla! This fun ruffle suit also comes in pink.
This colorful Jemma has a taste of Hawaii with its swaying red palm trees and smocking detail at the top!
Aren’t these fabulous suits! See? Whoever said modest had to be boring!
So girls — what is your favorite modest swimsuit?

The Mod Bod Swimsuit Giveaway!
August 1, 2009: CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.
Have you ever had a hard time finding a modest swimsuit that covered your midriff and still looked fabulous? Good, I’m not the only one! If you’re unsatisfied with your swimsuit collection and want something new and flattering to walk down the beach in, you’re in luck!
The Mod Bod has generously donated a swimsuit for one lucky Cable Car Couture reader! Will it be YOU?!
The Mod Bod is modest clothing company that was established in 2004 by Shellie Slade who was tired of having to hunt high and low for modest clothes for her daughters. This year they launched their Swim line that has been incredibly popular!
My favorite piece from their Swim collection is the Aubrey (pictured above) with ravishing ruffles that hide a tummy — fashionably!
All the suits in the Mod Bod Swim line are modest two pieces and interchangable with options like retro boy shorts and swim skirts for the gal that wants to keep covered poolside.
Even pregnant women are in luck with the Mod Bod Swim Collection! Their swimsuits can accomodate a growing tummy.

Swimsuits that Hide Thighs and Derriere
There has been lots of excitement around our last swimsuit segment, How to Maximize a Small Bust. Another thing that women have been requesting is swimsuits that hide thighs and derriere. If this is something you look for in a swimsuit, look no further!
With the onset of tankinis, you can have a top that covers up and choose a bottom of your choice. For extra coverage to hide thighs and derrieres, consider wearing a skirt.
This swim skirt from Shade Clothing has swim bottoms attached–great way to kill two birds with one stone. Look at how much thigh it hides!
Hapari has a sassy swim skirt that doesn’t hug quite so close to the body if you don’t want the material to hug your hips. This piece is the skirt only, bottoms are not included.
DownEast Basics makes this darling Malibu swim skirt with flair.
Boy short bottoms are another favorite for girls that want to have a little more coverage for their legs. The Mod Bod has retro swim bottoms in brown and black that you can mix and match with your suits.
Ultimately, pairing a one of these dark colored full coverage bottoms with a patterned top is best. This will draw the eyes up and take the focus away from what you’re trying to hide.
This zebra inspired top with a dark bottom is a great example from Lime Ricki.
So class, hope these ideas help when you’re shopping for a swimsuit to hide thighs and derriere.

Swimsuits that Maximize a Smaller Bust
Earlier this week, Cable Car Couture featured bathing suits that minimize your bust. This segment is especially for women that want to find a swimsuit that maximize a smaller bust.
You’ll find it’s all in the details!
These fabulous ruffles on the Santa Monica Downeast Basics swimsuit do an excellent job of creating a fuller bust. LOVE the shape of this neckline and the ruffles.
Bold prints like the one on Hapari’s GNO V-neck tankini are great for maximizing smaller bust. I’ll let you in on a little secret, too–all of Hapari’s swimsuits have hidden pockets specifially for Illusions, Hapari’s silicone breast inserts.
The bandeau style is particularly flattering for smaller busts, like this ModBe Cheetah Bandeau top.
This cinched bandeau one-piece from Delia’s adds extra interest and oomph, a great way to maximize a smaller bust.
Polka dots, like on Lime Ricki’s Sophia one-piece, makes things interesting and are flattering on a woman with a smaller bust. Love the unique style on this neckline.
So if you’re looking for a swimsuit this season to maximize your smaller chest, don’t underestimate the power of the details. Bold patterns, ruffles, rouching and bandeau tops will augment a smaller chest for sure.
Which suit appeals to you most?
