Leading up to Halloween, we are going to post a Halloween costume idea everyday to get the creative juices flowing. Yesterday’s featured costume was Captain Jack Sparrow.
Today’s costume?

Wicked

Wicked Witch of the West
The Wicked Witch — either the lovely Elpheba Wicked version (a la Idina Menzel) or the classic Wicked Witch of the Witch from the Wizard of Oz.
In order to recreate the Wicked Witch for Halloween, you will need the following:
- Green face paint
- Black eyeliner to line eyes and darken eyebrows for contrast
- Long nails and green nail polish
- Witch’s hat
- Black dress (or turtleneck and long skirt separates)
- Black cape
- Black boots
- Striped socks
- Broom
- For extra credit, collaborate with friends dressed as Flying Monkeys!

Wicked Witch and Flying Monkey
A couple years ago, I painted my face green and went as the Wicked Witch of the West — it was a total blast and I got great feedback for very little effort! It just so happened that I bumped into a lovely little Dorothy at the party which made for a terrific photo op.

And now for a Wicked close-up
What are you going to dress up as for Halloween?
Stay tuned! Next up: Batman!

OMG, how cute are you with the little Dorothy! Great job on the costume…amazing how your green makeup makes the outfit.
Thanks, Renae! That was fortuitous to happen upon a Dorothy
Appreciate the kudos on the costume, the green goes a long way.
