I am drooling at the thought of this around my neck!

My cause is a local one, and a personal one. I make little layettes for babies who have died shortly before or after birth so the parents have something special to bring home with them after they leave the hospital. After making them I take them to the hospital where I had my oldest daughter and where I had to leave her. That little layette was an anchor to me, so I had to make something to help touch other mourning mothers in their sorrow.

I would LOVE cashmere on my neck! The last time I had cashmere I shrunk it in the wash, being careless. My favourite sweater I wanted to turn into a pillow.
My favourite cause is the education and resources given to poorer third world countries. As I served my mission in Guatemala, we weren't able to give too much to so many children who believed I was rich because of where i was from, but we were able to give simple education to the children. Unfortunately we couldn't stay with them long enough to see progress, but I loved when people would take the time out of their lives to come and help these children. There are too many adults who can't read nor hold down a job, so having education for these little children is so detrimental for the entire job and our future.

First of all, LOVE the scarf! My favorite cause is for battered women. Growing up my mom was the director of a battered women's shelter. It became so close to my heart meeting women that had completely started a new life with their children without living in fear anymore. They are my heros!
