Last Friday I had the pleasure of being nurtured and rejuvenated at Startup Princess’s Touchpoint Conference for women entrepreneurs. Danielle LaPorte of White Hot Truth was the keynote speaker (a fellow Vancouver girl) who, true to her word, rocked the mic, leaving her audience absolutely enthralled. In case you missed the event, you’re in luck because her keynote address at Touchpoint was streamed live and you can watch the recording right here.
In addition to being a writer and a speaker, Danielle is a business strategist and has worked with over 500 entrepreneurs in the last 2 years. In her Firestarter Sessions with clients, she asks them a series of burning questions, 8 of which she shared with us at Touchpoint, including:
- When do you feel powerful, free, passionate, incredibly useful, excited, inspired?
- What do people thank you for most often?
- Who do you think is really cool, elegant, or powerful, and why?
She teaches powerful philosophies relating to authenticity in life and business, that include getting paid to do be yourself, to simply exist. That whatever you gravitate towards, you possess. That your strengths are the things that make you feel stronger. That you’re as free as you believe you are.
As I listened to her words, I started to identify things I wanted to stop doing, like giving away my power. I felt empowered to own my own space, to create a balanced lifestyle, delegate what I don’t want to do, and truly live. We were encouraged to make a list of how we want to feel and work backwards to create those feelings. I want to feel deeply rooted, free, recognized, intuitive, loved, inspired. How do you want to feel?
What type of fashion blog would this be if I didn’t post a photo of her great outfit! After teaching the class on layering fashion styling last week, I was really digging the fun combo of her shawl, cowl dress, and snakeskin leggings.
If you attended Touchpoint, what was your biggest takeaway?
