Daily Outfit: Stripes and Circles

Recently I’ve been inspired by looks of layering a collared shirt underneath a striped pullover.

So I decided to give it a go and loved the results!

I’m on a committee for a regional dance festival for youth in the greater Seattle area and I wore this to one of the dance rehearsals to measure the girls for their costumes. Several teenagers told me how much they loved my outfit which totally made my night!

Outfit Breakdown

  • Striped pullover – Forever 21
  • Collared shirt – mail-order catalog
  • Statement necklace – made by moi
  • Red nail polish – Essie
  • Skinny jeans – Shade Clothing

Have you gotten behind the trend to layer a collared shirt underneath a striped shirt? I’d love to see your results!

The collared-shirt-under-sweater look has been my go-to lately. It just always looks so put together. Of course now I need a striped pullover!

  2. It's fab, I could see how this could easily become a when-in-doubt outfit. Such a fun preppy look. Yes, a striped pullover is a definite must for any wardrobe!

Thanks so much for coming by my blog to say hello. Kenneth from 30 Rock is my fave too! It's really nice to meet you. You have amazing style!

  4. Thanks, Tracy! It's great for staying warm in the winter time, no? Today I'm trying the same idea with a chambray shirt under a bulky sweater.

Nice to "meet" you as well :) Thanks for your lovely words.

I'm bummed that we don't see Jonathan on 30 Rock anymore, I heard he has his own show now!

Our walls and albums are filled with Justin\’s photos and I was just thinking how he seems like he\’d fit here on in Seattle like a fish in water. I\’ll send you an email and we can get together soon. Looking forward to it.

Yay for stripes! They\’re fun, easy, and versatile.
