Thanks, Stephanie, for your comment. They had some more romantic looks as well, but they didn't all make it into the post. The nice thing about the longer jackets (boyfriend blazers, drape front cardigans, trench coats) is that they accommodate and camouflage a more triangular body type. http://bit.ly/8anh3H Anyways, yes, these looks are definitely revived from an earlier time. Designers dusted them off and brought them back.

Yes, Diane Kruger had an amazing dress! I love the color gradation and the silhouette. It hangs beautifully on her figure.

Okay, I know this was Golden Globes - but did anyone else see Diane Kruger's pink tulle dress this award season? Personal favorite- and talk about unusual necklines.

I think a lot of these fashions are available already especially through American Apparel and Urban Outfitters. It's a mixture of 80's/90's looks. It's cool but for a slimmer body type. The more feminine styles of the 50's is also where it's at. Channel a bit of the old school glamour and shapes. Word on the street is that a cleaned up version of punk grunge is coming in as well...more of a rockabilly style. Classic and fun.

Thanks for your feedback, Lola! Yes the cascading curls on Lady Gaga are impressive! Too bad they didn't hide the wig at the hairline too well. But YES -- Marilyn of 2093, I love it! If anyone's going to pull it off though, it's going to be Lady Gaga. I think this is the most I've seen of her face ever.

Rihanna's dress is simply stunning. The the way the fabric in the skirt and train falls just takes my breath away.

Wow - I agree with your verdicts. Beyonce's dress isn't HORRIBLE, but I don't love it either - not by a long shot. LOVE Rhianna's dress. Wow. Totally stunning.

I think Lady Gaga looks divine! Honestly - wow. Her hair is probably my favorite feature. She does look other-worldly but in a really good way. Like, the Marilyn Monroe of 2093. Her make up is so interesting - dark, heavy eyes with Barbie pink lips? Never would have put those together, but they are working.

Thanks for your comment, Italian. Especially if you like an ultra-feminine look, this is going to be a great season for you!
